Re: Anyone been back to the Boleyn?
With the ashes thing, I know it's all about the stadium, but seeing as they completely change the pitch 2 times a year now anyway, they will have already been taken elsewhere.

So much wedge in the game, that it's been a few years since they worried about not wanting a complete turf overhaul.

Still, doesn't make Brady any less of a cunt!

Was there about a month ago, loads of it was sectioned off cos they were filming something.

Just like any other non-matchday as someone else said, except all the signage and stuff had gone.

Loads of stickers all over the place as well from foreign clubs Ultras which I hadn't noticed before, dunno if they were there before or not.

Stay off this thread son, it's clearly aimed at people who have been to the Boleyn previously.

Re: Anyone been back to the Boleyn?

I was actually thinking thanks mainly to the "death thread" on here about whether West Ham allowed fans ashes to be scattered or buried under the pitch? If that was the case of course with the demolition that must be quite hard on those families.

I know a young girl (18 or so) whose Dad's ashes are over there... her family were massively upset ... wrote to the club... not sure what the reply was but it don't matter much now does it.

Was there a couple of weeks back. Barratt London banners hanging from a sorry looking West Stand. Area just looks like any other non match day.

Went before the Accrington game too. Walked my old North bank route which I hadn't done for years, through the alley that had the everlasting puddle back in the day. Seeing the bus garage flattened was weird, probably been there for as long as WHU. Wished id left it alone after the Man Utd game but morbid fascination kicked in.

Managed to get into the concourse at BML/Rio lower through a black curtain before security lobbed me out.

Re: Anyone been back to the Boleyn?
I went back one night to be in the movie. It was like a time capsule of that great night in May. The BML was well trashed. The toilet cubicles were smashed up and the bowls skidmark encrusted. And the stench of stale piss nauseating. And that was just the ladies..

I came away from there (at 5am) with a real sense of loss and waste.

defjam - any news on who's driving the excavator - it's not a Millwall fan who's paid for the privilege, is it?

I was over there the other day.

Homeless have moved in to priory road doorways and exits to the West/Betway stand near the supporters club

Bloody depressing over there.

Re: Anyone been back to the Boleyn?
Yes you could have your ashes buried at UP in times gone by. They used an area just off the pitch in the corner (North Bank / Chicken Run corner) as we knew it.

No idea if it was stopped, or has continued, in recent years. Some arrangement will have to be made if so, as clearly WHU don't have those sort of rights at the OS...

Those affected by the move will no doubt have raised it with the club long since.

Nope. Always said the last time would be the Man Utd game. We gave it the perfect send off, time to move on.
